Last game of the round and it was off to Pioneer's home ground. Much has been said about this year's Pioneer team, but we certainly were not taking them lightly with both the Nunn Challenge Shield at stake and valuable competition points.

The game was played at a very quick pace right through the entire eighty minutes and at full time nine tries had been scored by Carterton. Try scorers were Charlie Brown (3), Matt Harrison (2), Reece Lett, Rex Rimene, Jason Scott, and Lance Stevenson. Conversions  were Jono Hurley (4), Tommy Harmon, Brock Price. Penalty goals, Jono Hurley (2).

A very pleasing days work and with the maximum points from this game it means that we go into the second round well placed in the top four. The Nunn Challenge Shield is safely locked away until 2011 with Carterton' name on it for the first time since 2002.
